BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday said that 2019 Lok Sabha election verdict is a mandate for Narendra Modi’s leadership and his five years of good governance.
Riding on a massive Modi wave sweeping through most parts of India, the BJP was set to return to power as it led in 292 seats while the Congress trailed far behind with 51, according to trends released by the Election Commission for all 542 seats that went to polls
Madhav said, “It is an election that was lifted by the people on their own shoulders in favour of Modi. It is an overwhelming mandate for Modi’s leadership and his five years of good governance. We had the agenda of the country in front of us whereas the opposition had no agenda except hate Modi.”
He said, “Eastern India, that includes even Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal and North East, we have had major gains but also we have improved our tally in many other states in the country. So, it is definitely an all India mandate.”
