Those Eighteen Days (Volume II)

Author - Dr K S Narayanacharya
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I introduced the first volume of Those Eighteen Days earlier. The second volume is also no less significant and rich in content and narrative. Dr Narayanacharya takes us through the part of the War that became Adharmic and drifted into an absolute horror. All rules of the game change and Sri Krishna takes pains to explain away various deeds of the main actors on both sides.

Exceptionally good introductory remarks by the author and thoughtful concluding words attributed to Sanjaya are the highlight of this volume.

The argumentative discourse on the meaning and essence of Dharma between Krishna and Balarama preceding the death of Duryodhana at the hands of Bhima too is a treat for serious readers.

Otherwise a superb volume like the first, it suffers from a little bit of repetitiveness occasionally especially in conversations between Sri Krishna and other Pandava princes like Yudhisthira and Arjuna.

The two volumes provide a new and profound vision for those wanting to understand the epic war that has no end and will go on between the good and the evil until the human race exists.
