THALASSERY: The ‘Kannur model’ politics of violence has no future and the Narendra Modi Government is committed to put an end to the ideology of brutality and intimidation being practised in north Kerala, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav has said.

“Delhi has witnessed a new political change. BJP is determined to put an end to the culture of murder politics and make northern districts of Kerala a violence-free zone,” Ram Madhav said while inaugurating the Janasakthi Sangamam organised by Sangh Parivar organisations here on Friday evening to protest against the murder politics of the CPM.

“After their collapse of Soviet and Chinese models  the CPM now boasts of the Kannur model, meant to physically eliminate political opponents. This too will become history soon,” he said.

The BJP leader said those who masterminded the murders of RSS leaders would be brought to book through constitutional means. He urged the people engaged in politics of violence to desist from such deeds and engage in ideological battle with the BJP.

Ram Madhav, who earlier in the day visited houses of Elandhotahil Manoj and Sureshkumar, assured all help to kin of RSS leaders killed in political violence in the district.

Suspect has Injury Marks

The medical examination of V T Vikraman, the key suspect in the murder of RSS leader Elandottathil Manoj, held at the General Hospital here on Thursday night, revealed that the accused had sustained injuries on his legs, shoulder and stomach. The exact reason for sustaining the injuries is yet to be ascertained.

The Crime Branch team had taken Vikraman to the murder site on Thursday night for evidence collection. Police sources said that Vikraman had been providing tutored answers during the Crime Branch quizzing, which seemed to be contradictory.

Meanwhile, two branch secretaries of the CPM appeared before the probe team on Friday. Ukkasmotta branch secretary K P Sajith and Chundangapoyil branch secretary T M Mahesh turned up at the camp office of the probe team in the compound of the ASP office in Thalassery.
