HYDERABAD: Criticising the Telugu Desam Party, a former alliance partner of the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Ram Madhav described the TDP government as a ‘father-son’ outfit here on Sunday.
Addressing an election meet at Sheelanagar, Madhav levelled the same charge against the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government in Telangana. “In Telangana I am told other family members like nephews have been marginalised to an extent that the nephew’s photograph is not supposed to be published in the newspapers,” Madhav claimed, indirectly pointing at the diminished role of T Harish Rao, chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s nephew.
Madhav said the Jana Sena Party of film actor Pawan Kalyan was in fact ‘Babu Sena’, a so-called B-Team of Naidu. Madhav too care not to criticise YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the YSR Congress Party’s president, leaving the party to seek the regional party’s support, if required, after the general elections.
Madhav claimed that Naidu would be retiring from politics after the election results are announced on May 23, clearly rooting for the YSRCP’s victory in both the state assembly and parliamentary elections.
